Hydraulic Components Need Protection:
Fluid power circuits are designed in all configurations, both simple and complex, and they all need protection from damaging contamination. When abrasive particles enter the system, they have the ability to damage sensitive components like pumps, valves and motors.
It is the specific job of the hydraulic filter to remove particles and water from the oil to help prevent premature component wear and ultimately system failure. As the complexity of hydraulic systems increase, the need for reliable filtration protection becomes ever more essential.
Filter Beta Ratios:
The Beta Ratio equals the ratio of the number of particles of a minimum given size upstream of the filter to the number of particles of the same size and larger found downstream. Simply put, the higher the Beta Ratio the higher the Capture Efficiency of the filter.
